Icons

Icons are pictorial representations of the Byzantine tradition painted over a wooden board that can be either portable o placed in an Iconostasis in an Orthodox Church. This wooden support is prepared with chalk and lime to support the ancient egg tempera technique. Icons represent images of Christ, the Mother of God, Saints and Liturgical Feasts, each of one with a Liturgical Calendar date.
